2012 Rules
Keep in mind in 2012 we will only be using the ARMA rules, now is the time to start converting! For the ARMA rules please click on the ARMA info link to the left, then click 2009 rules (they will update to 2010 soon).

Moose Mountain Speedway 2010:

LAWNMOWER REGULATIONS
:

Chassis - Lawnmower parts. Reinforcement allowed. Max width 44" not to exceed outside of wheels.

Rear Bumper - Not to exceed outside of wheels when straight. No sharp edges.

Nerf Bars — Not to exceed outside of tires 1" or fenders enclosed (foot can not pass through or get caught in or on). Two bars with 4" gap, starting bottom bar at footrest.
 
Steering - No end-to-end joint welding. Safety minded on cotter pinned bars.
 
Steering Wheel - No Handle Bars. Steering shaft should be modified for safety.
 
Wheels - Must be reinforced. Must be secured on axel by 1/8" pin or bolt. No side-by-side or doubled up wheels.
 
Tires - Lawnmower tires no larger than 20".

Fuels - Pump gas only.
 
Kill switches - (Tether Switch) - Must be attached to the driver while on the mower.
 
Numbers - Need to be Minimum 5" on both sides of mower. One number per class, first mower to have number will keep number, others have to change their number, can use any letter in front of or after number.
 
Seats - Must be lawnmower seat.
 
Brakes
- Mechanical or hydraulic disc brakes on the axel for ALL ungoverned classes with locked rearends. 

Mufflers - Approved mufflers (no hollowed out, guts removed, ect.) If muffler is too loud inspector will ask you to change muffler before next race.

All rearends must be posi in non governed classes.

Can run straight axel with transmission.
  (does not have to be transaxel)

NO front bumpers except Mod. single & twin class.

No unlocked transmissions except Super Stock.


Inspectors will decide which class your mower will be entered in (if not sure). Drivers must complete registration forms upon arriving at track.

Classes:
 
Improved Stock- Up to 20 HP engine. All rear-ends must be locked. Carburetor must be original. Stock muffler / pipe with muffler. Maximum width 41" outside to outside of rear tires and up to 44" for the front.
 
Improved Twin - Up to 20 HP engine. All rear-ends must be locked. Carburetor must be original. Stock muffler / pipe with muffler. Maximum width 41" outside to outside of rear tires and up to 44" for the front.
 
Modified Single Cylinder Class - Up to 20 HP engine must look original. Any carburetor and intake, flathead or OHV. Maximum width of mower can be 44" outside to outside of tires (front and rear).

Modified Twin Cylinder Class - Up to 25 HP engine must look original. Any carburetor and intake, flathead or OHV. Maximum width of mower can be 44" outside to outside of tires (front and rear).

Super Stock Single - All stock with original tires and transmission. Governors must be hooked up with 3650 Max RPM's. Pulleys can be changed. Must have original working brakes or better. Must have hand throttle with two return springs. NO MODIFICATIONS!

TRACK FLAG RULES:
 
Green - Race or practice is underway.
 
Yellow - Caution, danger, no passing on track. Drivers form single lane and close up to leader.
 
Red - Stop immediately, shut mower off in a safe location.

Rolled UP Black Flag - Driver must clean their act or receive a full black flag.

Black - Driving infraction or violation, driver must complete lap and pull in pits for consultation with flagger/pit tech.

White - One lap to go.

Checkered - End of race or practice laps. Lead driver to complete one more lap and then pull into pits.

White / Yellow - Two (2) laps to go.
 
Red / Yellow Crossed - First lap incomplete (caused by track incident). Full restart follows.

BREAK DOWN DURING RACE:
Red flag will be given. Machine will be removed from track. Will run five (5) laps under caution for repair time. Race will resume after five (5) caution laps are completed.

DRIVER SAFETY RULES
1. All racing participants must be at least 18 years old otherwise have a parent/guardian consent and signature.
2. Long pants, long sleeves and boots are required. Helmet (DOT approved full face or helmet with goggles), neck roll and chest protectors are a must. Gloves are recommended.
3.No alcohol in the pits whatsoever until race is finished. Zero tolerance. Persecutors will be suspended for the minimum of 2 (two) races depending on decision.
